Information You Submit
Names, phone numbers, and addresses entered into the search forms are sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Ogden Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those searches on its own servers. If you contact us, we receive the information included in your message and use it to respond.
Information Collected Automatically
Ordinary hosting logs can include an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. We review aggregated information to operate the site and understand readership. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and, where used, advertising measurement.
How Information Is Used
Information supports operating the site, resolving technical problems, measuring traffic, and improving its pages. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Websites
Links can lead to Monroe County and New York portals, libraries, archives, and third-party search tools. The privacy policy of the destination, rather than this policy, controls information submitted there. The same is true of sponsored search results provided by a third party.
Service Providers and Disclosures
Hosting and support providers process server-log information for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Information is disclosed when valid legal process requires it and not otherwise.
Safeguards and Retention
The site uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. Because there are no accounts, no visitor password or on-site profile is maintained for exposure.
Visitors Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor sent us information, contact us so it can be deleted.
Your Information Choices
Depending on where a visitor lives, that visitor may have rights to ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data held by a website. We keep very little, so a request normally involves reviewing the contact mailbox and server logs and removing what is found. Use the Contact page to make a request. New York Freedom of Information Law, Public Officers Law Article 6 ยงยง84-90, governs access to many government-held records, not data held by this private reference. Requests about a record held by a state, county, or Town office must go to that custodian.
Policy Changes
Updates will appear on this page. Continued use after an update means acceptance of the revised policy.
